Design firm DIFFUS recently had one of those rare eureka moments that inspired their latest creation. Pictured below is their solar powered handbag, embroidered with a hundred small panels that emit enough energy to charge a smartphone. Thats not all its features though.Since ladys bags tend to be filled with survival accessories (we mean this real sarcastic, of course), opening the handbag triggers integrated fiber optics that provide enough illumination for a good view of its contents. It just sucks to be vainly sifting through a cluttered back for a pen.The miniature photovoltaic cells used on the bag were embroidered by Forster Rohner and the Alexandra Institute, both of whom made sure the resulting pattern didnt compromise the bags style.The profusion of monocrystalline silicone on the bags exterior allows it to generate 2 watts of energy. Its a decent amount for charging gadgets and future improvement son the tech point to bags that might soon be able to power notebooks and laptops.The luxury hand bag will be retailing soon, though theres no word yet on an official release date.
