This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

When you think of BYU, there are a lot of things people get attached to, from football or basketball to academics. But to others who know what amazing ice cream tastes like, it's all about the BYU Creamery.

Each year the BYU Creamery produces 200,000 gallons of ice cream. There's a menu of 30 flavors every day, 20 core and 10 rotating. This includes flavors for special events like the Stream and Trails in honor of a beautiful walking path that just opened on campus. There's also LaVell's Vanilla, Bishop's Bash or Graham Canyon. Last year they created an ice cream in honor of poet Robert Burn's 250th anniversary.

Cougar fans throughout the country continue to love BYU ice cream, and the Creamery ships ice cream to alumni throughout the United States and Canada. Although one would expect ice cream sales to peak in summer, Dean Wright, director of BYU Dining Services, says the Creamery is busy all year long. It's not unusual to see a line out the door on certain days of the week or after special events.

But ice cream isn't the only thing this BYU favorite produces. The flagship store on Ninth East in Provo is also a 50s style eatery known for its fresh grilled hamburgers and French fries. It's a throwback to a 50s style malt shop. All Creamery stores also carry a full line of grocery products. Did you know that over 40 percent of the items sold in the Creamery are made by BYU students? Here's a few numbers that will blow your mind. Each year the Creamery produces 15,000 gallons of ranch dressing, 10,000 gallons of yogurt and 9,000 pounds of cheese.

One of the things that sets the BYU Creamery apart is that they use only the most modern technology to produce their quality products. Just a few years ago they updated their equipment and created a brand new manufacturing operation for their Creamery products. The FDA now uses their facility as a training lab for inspections.

For Zions Bank, I'm Chris Redgrave, speaking on business.
