The publishers of Harry Potter must think they died and went to Hogwarts Heaven.
The latest book in the magical children's series moved more copies in one day than any other book sold in the entire year, said an industry source.
"Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" sold 4.1 million copies when it was released in July, according to industry sales tracker Nielsen BookScan.
The No. 2 selling book, "A Million Little Pieces" by James Frey sold 1.77 million copies for the entire year - far short of the 7 million "Half-Blood Prince" books sold in 2005.
The book shattered world records to become the fastest-selling book in history.
The darker, more mature sixth installment of J.K. Rowling's magical seven-part series had crazed fans lined up for midnight book-release parties at bookstores all over the city when it was released.
