Snow accumulations of 6 to 12 inches expected by late Wednesday evening for the mountains of northern and central Utah. Snow early Wednesday is expected to impact the Wednesday morning commute. Be prepared for winter driving conditions for Interstate 80 through Parleys Canyon, near Logan Summit and also Sardine Summit.

Including the cities of Woodruff, Randolph, Alta, Brighton, Mirror Lake Highway, Scofield, Cove Fort, Koosharem, and Fish Lake

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO MIDNIGHT MDT WEDNESDAY NIGHT...

* AFFECTED AREA...The Wasatch Mountains, the Western Uinta Mountains, the Wasatch Plateau and Book Cliffs, and the Central Utah Mountains.

* SNOW ACCUMULATIONS...6 to 12 inches by late Wednesday evening.

* TIMING...A band of heavy snow will accompany a cold front late Tuesday night into early Wednesday morning across the mountains of northern Utah, then move south into central Utah Wednesday morning before weakening. Snow showers will redevelop Wednesday afternoon into Wednesday evening.

* IMPACTS...Snow early Wednesday is expected to impact the Wednesday morning commute. Winter driving conditions are possible including along Interstate 80 through Parleys Canyon, near Logan Summit and also Sardine Summit. Visibilities will be reduced reduced in areas of intense snowfall. Roads are expected to run mostly wet through Wednesday afternoon, though higher intensity snow showers will still have the capability to produce brief accumulations of slush on road surfaces.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means that snow accumulations will cause primarily travel difficulties. Be prepared for snow covered roads. Use caution while driving.
