QUEBEC CITY, Canada, Nov 3 (AFP) - French third seed Marion Bartoli and American Shenay Perry advanced to the quarter-finals of a 170,000-dollar WTA tournament with second-round triumphs here Thursday.
Bartoli rallied to eliminate Finland's Emma Laine 2-6, 6-1, 7-5 while Perry defeated Germany's Julia Schruff 7-6 (7/4), 6-3.
The other quarter-final pairing will be determined in later matches, with top seed Nathalie Dechy of France facing Argentina's Maria Emilia Salerni and Canadian wild card Stephanie Dubois meeting Russia's Anastassia Rodionova.
Friday's other quarter-finals will send American sixth seed Amy Frazier against Slovakia's Henrieta Nagyova and Russia's Elena Vesnina against Swedish eighth seed Sofia Arvidsson.
The winner takes home 27,000 dollars.
