NEW YORK, Oct 14, 2005 (UPI via COMTEX) -- It looks like Broadway's "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang" may be more of a bomb, bomb, it was reported Friday.
Rumors are swirling backstage that the troubled $14 million children's musical based on the movie about a flying car will shut down before year's end, the New York Post reported.
Producers have cut back their virtually empty weeknight performances and added to more weekend shows in an effort to attract an audience, the newspaper said.
September box office grosses were not enough to cover the overhead and the show broke even for the first time last week, a source told the Post.
