LONDON, Oct 4, 2005 (UPI via COMTEX) -- More than 300 million copies of J.K. Rowling's "Harry Potter" books have been sold worldwide with more than one-third sold in the United States.

The books about the boy wizard have been translated into 63 languages, the BBC said Tuesday. The sixth volume in the series was released last summer.

"We are delighted to announce that worldwide sales for the Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling have now exceeded 300 million copies," a spokeswoman for her literary agent, Christopher Little, told the BBC.

The film, "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire," a film based on Rowling's fourth book is due out next month.

And Rowling has promised fans she'll add at least one more book to the popular series.
