Alternative Irish singer SINEAD O'CONNOR was driven back to music by her children who were fed up of her moping about the house.

The NOTHING COMPARES 2 U hitmaker withdrew from the industry in 2003 to raise her three children and battle with chronic fatigue disease, fibromyalgia.

But the controversial star announced a comeback earlier this year (FEB05) and insists it has been a welcome change from domestic duties.

She says, "My children were practically begging me to go back to work.

"Someone like me, your work is your social life. So if you're not doing it, you're not getting out of the house.

She adds of her new album THROW DOWN YOUR ARMS: "It was very much about raising myself from the f**king dead." (SH/MJ/ES)
