(Fallujah, Iraq-AP) -- More clashes are being reported in Iraq.

A U-S military patrol in the troubled city of Fallujah came under fire from a mosque today. Central Command says the soldiers didn't return fire, but did arrest two suspects.

The military also says an American soldier was shot and killed by unidentified attackers at a checkpoint in western Iraq. A military statement says the attackers pulled up late yesterday to a roadblock near the Syrian border, asking for medical help for a person in their car.

They then pulled guns and shot the soldier. The military says troops returned fire, killing one person and capturing another. At least one other attacker fled in the vehicle.
