(KSL TV) It is becoming clearer and clearer that a war in Iraq may take longer and cost more lives than previously expected.

In an exclusive Eyewitness News poll--by Survey USA three out of four Utahns think the war will take months or longer. More than 25% think it could take up to a year or longer.

Kip Carpenter: "I THINK THE WAR STARTED SEPTEMBER 11TH, AND I'M GLAD THAT BUSH IS DOING SOMETHING ABOUT IT. I'M A SUPPORTER OF BUSH AND WE WANT OUR AMERICANS TO GET HOME SAFE."

However, despite the extended length of the war, three out of four Utahns are optimistic and believe that the U.S. is winning. 22 percent believe neither country is winning.
