WASHINGTON — It's the last day of the Great American State Fair in Washington, D.C., and Utah was named best in show.

The accolade for the state's booth at the fair was announced by Utah Gov. Spencer Cox in an X post on Friday.

"This recognition belongs to the incredible volunteers, organizers, and partners who poured their time, talent, and creativity into sharing Utah's story with the nation," he wrote.

The governor continued: "Thank you for representing our state so well and for helping showcase what makes Utah special. Congratulations to everyone who made this possible. You've made Utah proud."

The fair was organized by Freedom 250, a group commissioned by the Trump administration, and it opened on June 25. July 10 is the last day of the fair.

While some states opted out of being represented at the fair, each state present had its own booth to present what makes it so great.

As previously reported by the Deseret News, visitors to the Utah booth were greeted by cartoon landscapes of some of Utah's most iconic features, including the red arches, ski slopes and Great Salt Lake. This gave people the chance to learn what makes Utah so great.

Fairgoers at the booth were also able to enter a raffle to win a free trip to Utah. The managing director at the Utah Office of Tourism, Natalie Randall, shared that she hoped the booth showed how beautiful and naturally diverse the state is.

Mike Mower, the senior adviser of community outreach and intergovernmental affairs in Cox's office, said they answered President Donald Trump's call to showcase the best in each state.
