Randall Jeppesen, KSL Newsradio, and KSL News A young boy injured in a sledding accident has died at Utah Valley Regional Medical Center.

Tuesday, firefighters responded to the accident at Rock Canyon Park in Provo around 4 p.m.

The boy, about 4 years old, was sledding at the park, not into the large bowl area but down the western slope. The boy slid into a scrub oak bush and was seriously injured.

He was still alive when he arrived at the hospital. The Provo Fire Department has confirmed that the boy has since passed away.
