MIT ā Our robot overlord have arrived, and theyāre more adorable than you could have imagined.
Meet the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) āmini cheetahā robots. Theyāre flexible, lighter than some Thanksgiving turkeys (20 pounds), and will someday rule us all.
Donāt believe me?
According to their developers, these robots are āvirtually indestructible,ā and the first four-legged robot to complete a backflip ā on their first try, no less. The team is making more of the little death machines to send to other labs and hopes to eventually be able to throw them through windows (for exploration purposes, duh).
Thatās right. They hunt in packs, are nearly impossible to destroy, and scientists are making more. Itās almost like a ... dare I say it ... a robot army.
So, without further ado, please meet your future owners (in this video):
Yes, the robot apocalypse is coming, and Iām not sure I can be upset. Look at those cute little guys run into each other and play in the leaves. They hop like tiny rabbits, play soccer, generally frolic, perform hilarious acrobatics, and ...are those synchronized stretching exercises? Wow. The bionic future is as bright as it is terrifying.
Until they slaughter us all in a glorious revolution, the developers hope to program them for robotic dog races. And when they do come for me, tiny guns in their tiny little robot legs, theyāll be so cute Iām not sure Iāll be able to resist them.
Have You Seen This?
