NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. stock indexes are opening lower following a weak jobs report late last week.
The Dow Jones industrial average was down 76 points, or 0.4 percent, at 17,687 as of 9:35 a.m. Eastern time Monday.
The Standard & Poor's 500 index fell five points, or 0.3 percent, to 2,061. The Nasdaq composite fell 13 points, or 0.3 percent, to 4,876.
The price of crude oil rose $1.04 to $50.18 a barrel in New York.
Bond prices didn't move much. The yield on the 10-year Treasury note held steady at 1.84 percent.
Many overseas markets are closed for holidays. U.S. stock trading was closed Friday for the Good Friday holiday.
