SANDY — A motorcyclist was killed in a crash Saturday while traveling north on I-15 near Sandy, according to the Utah Highway Patrol.

The crash occurred shortly after 1:20 p.m. between a car and a motorcycle, according to Utah Highway Patrol trooper Eddie Wright. The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital, where he later died. Wright didn't have any other information on the individual who died.

At 2:31 p.m., the Utah Department of Transportation said the right four lanes and the shoulder of northbound I-15 were blocked, and the nearby onramp was closed.
