THE SILVER SCREEN — Confession: I've never seen "Footloose."
Considering the cultural impact of the 1984 blockbuster, and the fact that I live in the heart of Utah Valley where it was filmed, I probably should have jumped on the Kevin Bacon bandwagon by now.
But I did love seeing his daughter Sosie Bacon star in the 2022 horror movie "Smile." And something else I loved was seeing her coax her dad into dusting off his dance moves to perform a Tik Tok dance for social media.
In a video posted online Nov. 10, 2022, the Bacons danced to Meghan Trainor's "Made You Look," complete with sunglasses and choreography.
Kevin Bacon told comedian and talk-show host Jimmy Fallon that he spent hours perfecting the moves and it took Sosie Bacon "like, five minutes."
"The last time I've worked that hard, now that I think about it, on a dance was when you asked me to come in and recreate the 'Footloose' dance on this show," he joked in a March 30 episode of "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon."
