AMSTERDAM – One of the most bike-friendly places on earth is Amsterdam, where the terrain is uncommonly flat and the roads are designed for the army of cyclists who call the city home.

There are actually about 320 miles of dedicated bike lanes in Amsterdam, which is about 318 miles more than you'll find in my town.

On a typical weekday, there are actually 2 million bikes out on the road of the Netherlands, highlighting the entire country's obsession with two-wheeled travel. There are more than 20 million total bikes in the Netherlands, which means that there are nearly 1.5 bikes for every single resident.

Given the culture, it's not surprising that the locals in Amsterdam use bikes for things that most people wouldn't think could be done without a car — like moving a couch, for example.

This isn't a particularly big piece of furniture to hoist, but I imagine that it's still pretty heavy, and it would be difficult to balance it on your head. The bike rider almost looks like a turtle thanks to the way it covers his back.

My favorite part of the video is how nonchalant the couch mover appears to be. As far as he's concerned, it's just another day in Amsterdam.
