SALT LAKE CITY — Westbound I-80 was closed temporarily after a semitruck caught fire Monday evening.

The vehicle caught fire on the on-ramp near 1300 East in Salt Lake City, Utah Highway Patrol said.

Sgt. Cameron Roden said the truck was hauling eggs, and the trailer was detached from the truck after it caught fire.

No one was injured. The closure caused traffic delays in the area, Roden said. By 10 p.m., drivers were still experiencing minor delays.

The cause of the fire has not been released.
