RADIOLOGY LAB – Ever experience a time where a major surprise seems to just smack you in the face?

A group of ultrasound school students felt the same when they found out their classmate Jessica was pregnant during a sonogram lab. A video of that sonogram lab went viral this weekend.

In the video, students are seen at a lab, identifying organs while conducting sonograms. One student's sonograms shows her uterus where a baby can be seen as the student asks "what's that?"

The student conducting the sonogram turns the monitor to show the other students who all gasp and look shocked as they realize the patient is pregnant.

The viral video was originally posted on TikTok with the caption: "When you're in lab and you find a surprise."

Two versions of the video, one with music and one without, can now be found on TikTok, Twitter and Instagram, where thousands of people are liking, watching and reacting to it with various emotions.

The students in the video have since posted follow-up videos explaining they are students in a diagnostic medical sonography class and that the video was staged.

The students were tasked with creating the best video related to sonography to compete against the other cohort of students for a prize of extra credit on their final class exam. They had no idea the video would blow up so much on social media.

One explanation video on TikTok by student Rebecca Dawson, explains during class that students are always asking "what's that" as they are still learning how to identify various organs. Because of this, her cohort thought it would be funny to ask "what's that" and make it look like their classmate Jessica only just found out she was pregnant.

In reality, Jessica is 15 weeks pregnant, everyone already knew she was pregnant before they took the video, and those students deserve an Oscar for their acting in the video.

Although staged, this video a good reminder to be continually checking up on ourselves and be aware of what is going on around us and in our bodies. Life-changing surprises happen all the time, but being extra prepared and aware is never a bad thing.
