HEBER CITY — A motorcyclist died and a passenger on the bike was critically injured on Sunday after crashing with a car in Wasatch County, police said.
About 2:30 p.m., dispatchers received the report of a head-on collision between the motorcycle and car on Cascade Springs Drive near state Route 92, the Wasatch County Sheriff's Office said.
The crash prompted an emergency response from Wasatch County firefighters, Utah Highway Patrol, Life Flight, AirMed, state parks crews and sheriff's deputies.
The man driving the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the scene. A woman who was a passenger on the bike was flown to a hospital in critical condition.
No one in the car was injured.
"We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends affected by this tragedy," the sheriff's office said. "We thank all of our first responders, including our 911 dispatchers, for serving so well through these tragic situations."
Cascade Springs Drive was expected to remain closed for several hours after the crash while police investigated.
