SALT LAKE CITY — Police are looking for a gold SUV involved in a deadly hit-and-run at 1300 S. Major Street in Salt Lake City on Sunday night,
The investigation began at 11:04 p.m. on July 31 when officers received information of a man who'd been hit by a car that drove away, Salt Lake police said in a statement.
Paramedics and officers found the victim, later identified as 59-year-old Kerry Brown, on the ground and immediately began life-saving efforts, but he died on scene.
While responding, officers received information that the car is gold-colored GMC Suburban or Yukon SUV with "recent, significant front-end damage," police said. The car's year is currently unknown.
Detectives believe Brown may have been crossing the street in a dimly lit area, not in a crosswalk, before being hit. They are also determining whether multiple cars struck him.
Anyone with information is asked to call 801-799-3000 and mention case 22-146198.
