SALT LAKE CITY — Police on Friday released the names of five people killed in crashes across Utah since last week.

Saratoga Springs auto-pedestrian crash

A pedestrian, Jerald Parker, 56, of Colorado, was hit by a car about 3:46 a.m. Monday at Camp Williams Road in Saratoga Springs, said Sgt. Derek Dalton.

The crash remained under investigation Friday, and Dalton did not know whether Parker was crossing the road at the time of the crash or if he was walking in the bike lane. That stretch of road does not have good lighting, the sergeant noted.

The driver of the car called police after the crash and remained on scene.

Rich County rollover

Martinez Macrino, 21, died after rolling his car on state Route 16 in Rich County on Sunday. Police say Macrino was northbound on S.R. 16 and attempted to pass another vehicle on the two-lane highway.

He avoided a head-on collision with a southbound vehicle, police said, but he then rolled his vehicle and was ejected. Macrino's city of residence was not released.

Iron County motorcycle crash

Bridgette Pike, 48, of Layton, was driving a motorcycle on state Route 20 in Iron County on Friday, July 8, when troopers say she was "traveling too fast" around a turn in an area that "consists of a downhill grade with a left-hand corner turn."

Pike slid off the right side of the road and was separated from her motorcycle. She hit a guardrail and died at the scene from her injuries.

Lehi rear-end crash

Orin Halter, 47, of Show Low, Arizona, was stopped in traffic on I-15 near Lehi for an unknown reason on Thursday, July 7. The car did not have tail lights on, troopers said.

Other drivers called dispatchers to report the disabled vehicle. But just one to two minutes after dispatchers received the first call — and while troopers were still en route to the scene — a Toyota Camry rear-ended the Honda, troopers said.

A passenger in the Toyota, Jennifer Barber, 51, of Park City, and Halter both sustained critical injuries and they both died at the hospital.
