PANGUITCH — A female motorcyclist is dead after hitting a guardrail on state Route 20 in Iron County on Friday afternoon, police said.
The incident happened at 12:50 p.m. when police said a female motorcyclist was eastbound on state Route 20 northwest of Panguitch and the Bear Valley Junction and was "traveling too fast" around a turn in an area that "consists of a downhill grade with a left-hand corner turn."
The motorcyclist slid off the right side of the road and was separated from the bike, hitting a guardrail and dying from her injuries, police said. The woman's husband was following behind her on a separate motorcycle at the time of the crash, according to Utah Highway Patrol officials.
The crash is still under investigation, and the name of the deceased had not been released.
