THE PARKING LOT — Few things give me more anxiety than when I have to back up a trailer. I once went boating with some friends in college and I was asked to go get the truck and back the trailer in so we could get the boat out. I didn't want to look like I couldn't do it, so I went for it. I probably lost about six pounds, I was sweating so badly from nerves. It took me about 20 minutes to back up about 12 feet and finally someone else took pity on me and did it for me.
Just this summer I was in Idaho and my uncle took me out on the boat. He told me to back it in. I thought I had improved over the years, but I was wrong. It took me way too many tries and then I finally got the boat in the water, but at one heck of an angle.
I looked at my uncle and this happened:
Me: "Well, that could have been worse."
Uncle:
Me:
Uncle: "How?"
So, I am not good at backing trailers up, but calling Niall Reid a pro would be a disservice to what the man can do with a big rig. Reid has a TikTok account where he shows off his trucking skills and this one where he makes a spot of tea is my favorite.

Reid backs his 18-wheeler up with precision, narrowly missing a delicate tea cup. His direction is so perfect that after a second you're no longer worried about the porcelain and can't wait to watch this thing play out. Eventually Reid gets the actual truck's rear tires right up next to the cup and then lowers a tea bag gently into the waiting hot water.
Maybe I'm more impressed because I know how terrible I am at backing trailers up, but this is impressive.
