THE PARK — Dogs will be dogs and hawks will be hawks. Meaning dogs will delightfully play in a park and hawks will inevitably try to eat them.
That's exactly what happened last week when a hawk swooped down and tried to snatch up Sugar Foot the dog, who was happily running around at a Philadelphia park, according to Storyful. Natalaya Hines, Sugar Foot's owner, caught the incident on video in slow motion.
It shows Sugar Foot running toward Hines and the large bird flying low and close to the dog. Luckily, the bird narrowly missed the blissfully unaware dog and flew away.
Hines told Storyful she would be "devastated" if anything were to happen to her 17-month old dog.
After the incident, Hines can be heard off-camera calling to the lucky puppy. Sugar Foot frantically runs in circles before finally going to her.
"They're trying to get you, baby," she tells her dog.
Sugar Foot still doesn't seem to understand her brush with death and just happily smiles at Hines before standing at attention, ready to run off again.
If only we all could have the carefree attitude of Sugar Foot, who was nearly eaten by a large bird but didn't let it get her down.
