THE DANGER ZONE — It’s the time of year for pumpkin spice, candy and costumes to invade our lives.
Inevitably, there will be very loud pumpkin spice complainers (just let people enjoy things), rumors about razor blades and drugs in candy, and some sort of controversy about a costume one or more people didn’t quite think through.
However, there will be plenty of delightful things in the fall to more than make up for all these things. So, to kick off this season on Have You Seen This? let’s take a look at a costume that is the early front-runner of the year.
The wearer: a French bulldog named Romeo. The costume: the Chucky doll from the horror movie franchise with the same name.
In this video, you’ll see four things that make this costume great.
The tiny dog costume includes a knife-wielding arm that flops when Romeo walks, making it look like he’s making stabbing motions.
Because of the way bulldogs walk with their squat bodies, the knife-wielding is exaggerated to the point of high comedy.
The round, big eyes of a Frenchie always look slightly panicked in general, but mixing that with the costume, the sidelong glances of this particular dog, and Frenchie grunts, it looks like the Chucky pup is out for blood.
It’s the perfect funny “fright” to start the season, and it sets a high bar for all the people thinking about dressing their pets up this year.
