THE WILDERNESS — A video of two bears fighting in British Columbia has recently gone viral, and it's easy to see why.
The first reason is that the onset of the fight is a little bit funny. It's a lot of posturing and "yelling" at one another. They're probably yelling, "Get off my property!" and all that jazz.
Also, I'm sure if the bears' forearms worked that way, they'd also be thumping their chests. They even have a short, human-like shoving match that feels a bit like teenagers who have never been in a fight before.
Additionally, before the real battle begins, it's almost like they're doing that twin-mirror gag we see in the movies. You know, the one where two lookalikes think they're looking in a mirror and do all these funny movements to try and see if it's really a mirror or not? Classic.
But wild animals of any ilk are not a joke, especially bears. Thus, we come to the second reason this video has gone viral.
It is quickly clear that these bears mean business. Once the fight really gets going, the physical power they display is stunning and terrifying. You'll quickly remember the scary fact that a full-grown bear can quite possibly crush your skull with one swipe of the paw.
Facebook user Cari McGillivray posted the video, which was filmed on a road in British Columbia. In this day and age of needing to capture a video instead of respecting wild animals for what they are, McGillivray did the right thing and stayed in her car.
