MOHRLAND, Emery County — Authorities are investigating a homicide after a body was found in Emery County last week, officials said Monday.

Officials discovered the body of 61-year-old William Randy Jones, of Price, on Thursday. They found the body on a cutoff road between Mohrland in northwest Emery County and Hiawatha in southwest Carbon County, according to a news release from Emery County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Janalee Luke.

The discovery led to a homicide investigation, the release stated.

Sheriff’s investigators have been conducting interviews over the past few days and identifying persons of interest in the case, Luke said. The sheriff’s office is preparing search warrants in the case, she added.

No arrests have yet been made in the case, according to the news release.

The investigation is ongoing, the release stated. No other information about the investigation was released on Monday.
