BARKELEY SQUARE — Dogs can be a delightful addition to a home, especially if you take the time to properly train them and set boundaries.
But no matter how well trained you think your four-legged friends are, they still have the run of the roost when you’re not home.
They’re probably not throwing doggie treat-laden parties with all the neighborhood pets and blasting loud music, but some dogs love to break the rules when their owners leave them home alone.
In fact, I’ve seen countless Internet images of dogs with trashcan lids stuck around their necks and videos of dogs otherwise behaving badly when there’s no owner to be seen.
But this dog takes it to a new level.
According to the video, this particular pooch — we’ll call him "Fido" to protect his identity — is not allowed on the bed.
It would be one thing if Fido joined the cat on the bed to get cozy or to look out the window, but that’s not what he does.
Almost immediately after his owner leaves, Fido is up on that bed hilariously reveling in the absence of authority. (And whoever decided to enhance the hilarity with the Benny Hill theme music is a hero in my book.)
If I didn’t know any better, I would say Fido was an angsty teenager raging against the machine by showing “The Man” there is no power behind his arbitrary rules.
