WEST JORDAN — A 17-year-old girl was killed in a car accident in West Jordan Monday afternoon.

Police say the girl was pulling out onto New Bingham Highway near 5100 West when her vehicle was T-boned by an on-coming pickup truck. The girl died at the scene.

There were two people in the pickup truck. Police say their injuries were minor.

The 17-year-old's name has not been released and police are not saying whether she was a student at the nearby Copper Hills High School.

New Bingham Highway was closed between Grizzly Way (5200 West) and 4800 West for several hours Monday evening while police investigated the accident scene.
