SALT LAKE CITY -- One of the new additions to the online "I'm a Mormon" video campaign features rock star Brandon Flowers.
Flowers is the lead singer for the pop rock band "The Killers." The video features him talking about his career, his family and his faith.
He calls his career "a dream come true."
"There are a lot of connotations that come along with rock music - it's usually very sex driven or very money driven," he explains on the video. "I realized early on that wasn't the road for me. Maybe because of the foundations that were laid in my life -- my mom taking me to church -- I wanted to take a different road, I guess."
He says many people have approached him and said they, too, were raised in the church.
"They expect there to be this camaraderie about, 'Oh, we've outgrown it now, and we're smart enough now to not be in it,'" he says. "It made me take a look at myself and I realized I was raised in it, and there's a fire burning in there."
The video shows Flowers playing music, and with his wife and young children. He mentions the example set by his parents, who he says were married for 44 years.
"There was always a happiness in my home, and that's what I want," he says.
