Poverty Summit convenes Saturday at St. Mark's Episcopal Church

SALT LAKE CITY — The Right Rev. Scott B. Hayashi, Episcopal Bishop of Utah, will be the keynote speaker of the annual Poverty Summit Saturday at St. Mark's Episcopal Church, 231 E. 100 South.

The summit, which is free and open to the public, will be conducted from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Lunch and snacks will be served.

Other speakers will include state Rep. Brian King, D-Salt Lake, and Salt Lake City Councilman Soren Simonsen.

Participating community groups include the Anti-Hunger Action Committee, Coalition of Religious Communities, Crossroads Urban Center, Disabled Rights Action Committee, and Homeless Opportunity and Rights Network.
