SALT LAKE CITY — Police have identified a man hit and killed by a TRAX train on Friday.
Lawrence Lemoine, 69, was hit and killed just before 9 p.m. at the intersection of 300 East and 400 South.
Police believe the man stopped to let an eastbound train pass in front of him and didn't see the second train coming from the west despite attempts from other pedestrians to get his attention.
An autopsy will be conducted by the state medical examiner as part of the investigation.
This marks the third fatal TRAX-pedestrian accident this year.
