Utah student gets perfect ACT

DUSCHESNE, Utah (AP) -- Duschesne High School senior Jared Bruton is getting a lot of attention from college recruiters.

Bruton scored a perfect 36 on the ACT college entrance exam. Only 62 other students in the country did that this year. About 500,000 students take the test annually.

Bruton also has a perfect 4.0 grade-point average on his transcript.

Bruton says he wants to go to Brigham Young University, but other schools are courting him, too. He's also an Eagle Scout, musician, all-state track runner and was the lead in the school play.

And Bruton's mom says he even takes out the garbage without being asked.
