(KSL News) President Bush touted progress in Iraq today, while anti-war protesters marched on streets across the country. "The American people should know the level of violence is significantly down," Bush said.

The war has become unpopular in the United States, with opposition from the American public and withdrawal proposals popping up in Congress. The voice that often is not heard is that of American soldiers and their families, who've sacrificed over the last five years. Eyewitness News looked at that perspective in today's Talking Point.

Two women who have a very personal connection to the war joined us for the segment. Carla Hitz's son has served two tours of duty in Iraq, and Julie Allen's husband has served in Iraq and is now in Afghanistan.
