MINERSVILLE, Utah (AP) -- The selection at Todd's Market in Minersville will leave a lot to be desired today.
Police say a man trashed the only grocery store in the Beaver County town late Sunday.
Christopher Adam Souder has been booked into the Beaver County jail on five charges, including third-degree felony counts of burglary and attempted theft.
Police say Souder stole the store's inventory of cigarettes and most of the beer in the market. He also ruined about $7,000 worth of perishable food by trying to stuff the items into a hole he made in the floor.
Todd McMullin, who has owned the market on Main Street for 24 years, says the store is open but a new shipment of food isn't scheduled until tomorrow.
McMullin says he thinks he scared off Souder when he stopped by the store late Sunday night.
The man fled to his brother's house where there was a brief stand-off with police before he was arrested.
