Friends organize fundraiser for injured Orem boy

Friends of an Orem boy who was seriously hurt by a homemade explosive device are putting together a fundraiser to try and help offset some of his medical bills.

Bridger Hunt's friends have been wanting to do something to help out ever since the explosive devise blew up, nearly killing the 11-year-old boy.

"He's really nice, and he just has a lot of friends," said Bridger's friend Kaeli Noland.

Noland is among several friends now putting together a barbecue to help raise money for Hunt's family. She says they've been calling businesses to donate items, and there will be a band, carnival games and a silent auction.

"It's pretty hectic, and then, yeah, you think that you're helping Bridger," Noland said.

The fundraiser will be a Bonneville Park in Orem next Thursday evening from 5:00 to 9:00.
