SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- Three elected officials are forming a team to work on improving air quality.
Gov. Jon Huntsman, Salt Lake City Mayor Ralph Becker and Salt Lake County Mayor Peter Corroon have formed the Community-Based Air Quality Partners Team to reduce the number of red-alert days in Utah.
Their projects will include initiatives like a recent anti-idling campaign that urges drivers to turn off their cars when they are at a standstill.
The group hopes to reduce fine particle emissions and ground-level ozone.
