A Utah County couple is accused in a heist. Police say their motive was to pay off court fines.

Investigators say a 25-year-old man from Provo and a 24-year-old woman from Springville stole a $10,000 Rolex watch from Losee Jewelers in Provo on Nov. 20.

Court documents show the man walked in, asked to see it, and then ran out the door with the watch. His fiancée was waiting for him in a car and the two sped away.

Police later discovered a Rolex with the same serial number at a pawn shop in Midvale. That led them to the suspects.

Investigators say the couple pawned the Rolex for $2,000 and were using that money to pay for court fines and living expenses. It's unclear how much the court fines were, or what led to the fines.
