ST. GEORGE — Tyler Robinson, the suspected shooter in the killing of political activist Charlie Kirk, grew up in southern Utah. His family lives in Washington City, and Robinson lives just a short drive away at a townhome in St. George. His neighbors reacted to coverage of him as the alleged gunman who killed political activist Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University. Some neighbors said they are shocked. Some had no idea he lived in their neighborhood, so they were alarmed to see all the police and FBI out there in front of their homes and families.

The Robinson family lives just five miles north of St. George in a home in Washington City. That's where police found Robinson's Dodge Challenger, mentioned in police reports, that was still parked out in front of the family's house Friday afternoon. Meanwhile, Robinson's townhome is located in the Cottages at Fossil Hills neighborhood in St. George. This is where people confirmed that Robinson lived most recently. Several neighbors told KSL they saw a man who looked just like him in that same Dodge Challenger here in the past month, getting out of the car, carrying groceries into the house. It's leaving people there unsettled. "I don't want to think that this dude lived here and our neighbor was associated with this in any way. It's crazy," said Jessie Riley, Robinson's neighbor.

"Just the build and stuff, now looking at him, that would make sense, yeah... Having kids, I'm sick to my stomach over it. I don't know how much I want my children to know about it. I want to guard them from some of this," said Victoria Davis, another one of Robinson's neighbors. Early Friday afternoon, FBI and police activity was seen at both locations. When asked about what they were doing at his townhome, the FBI responded briefly, saying it was a "court-authorized activity." No further comment was given. The FBI, Utah Highway Patrol, Washington City Police Department, St. George Fire Department and other responders were on scene at Robinson's townhome for most of the day. Neighbors reported seeing them there as early as 8 a.m.
