KEARNS –  Lodestone Park in Kearns is one of Eva’s favorite spots. With tires big enough to climb and logs wide enough to balance on, it’s an open invitation to explore. And that’s exactly what Eva loves to do. “She just has so much curiosity, and she's not afraid. She loves to go and explore hands-on,” said Morgan, Eva’s permanency caseworker with the Utah Division of Child and Family Services. While Eva’s up for the challenge of a tall slide, her real joy comes from treasure hunting. Bits of nature, shiny pebbles, hidden corners — they all invite wonder. And for Eva, feeling safe is the first step toward discovery. [gallery ids="810246,810248,810247"] “And you can tell when she starts to explore like that. That means that she feels comfortable and she feels safe to do that,” Morgan said. Curiosity often leads Eva to new friends. “She loves to make new friends. She loves to find out more about them,” Morgan said. “And she's got a really good memory, too, actually. So when she actually establishes these relationships, she'll go back and she'll ask questions about it.” Relationships matter to Eva. Whether she’s lending a hand at home or connecting with classmates, she values friendship, consistency, and trust. For the past nine years, she’s lived in foster care — but she’s never stopped being “bubbly,” as Morgan described her. "So, Eva – first word that comes to mind is definitely bubbly. She's got a lot of energy, and she's got such a big heart,” Morgan said. She’s smart, musical, and when she’s feeling brave, she loves to sing. Eva also has an incredible affection for animals. “She knows all their names. If we go for walks, she likes to point them out and say, 'Oh, that's that neighbor’s.' And she'll go up and pet them. It's clear they like her, too,” Morgan said. What Eva needs now is stability — a safe, loving home with clear boundaries and consistent care. That’s when her personality flourishes most. “That's when you really see her personality come out. And that's where you see the curiosity, the really active, even the really playful Eva that's been running around finding all the treasures.” Eva's a spirited explorer with a huge heart—and now she’s searching for her ultimate treasure: a forever family. “Eva's got, just got one of the biggest hearts you probably will ever find. And she just really wants to share it with people. And I think that's one of her biggest strengths, honestly. She just has so much love that she's ready to give everyone," Morgan said. Eva also shared with us some of her favorite things. She loves Minecraft, cookies-and-cream milkshakes, and watermelon. And she’s ready to bring that same warmth, curiosity, and connection to a new home. To learn more about Eva or explore adoption, please contact Raise the Future at 801-265-0444.
