SALT LAKE CITY — Inside the walls of Primary Children’s Hospital, something remarkable happens every day. Children arrive in need of healing, and many leave with a new purpose: to help others. This transformation is made possible by the expert care, compassion and community support that define Primary Children’s. And your donations help make it all happen.
Henry’s journey: From patient to future EMT

Henry Coulter has spent a lot of his life in hospitals, including undergoing two kidney transplants. But it’s Primary Children’s that left the biggest mark on his heart. “I’ve been to a couple other hospitals, and there’s none quite like it,” Henry said. “It’s the hospital I’ve grown up in. I really love Primary Children’s.” Inspired by the care he received, Henry now dreams of becoming an EMT. “I really just want to go help people,” he said. “With the experiences I’ve had, I can sympathize with a lot of people and help them through what they’re going through.”
Edison’s safe place

Edison Dunn was born with Apert syndrome and has undergone numerous surgeries. But for his family, Primary Children’s is more than a hospital — it’s a place of peace. “We’ve created so many relationships there,” said Edison’s father, Josh. “Certainly, we go there for surgery and things we don’t look forward to, but we know it’s a safe place.”
Olivia’s new horizons

Diagnosed with leukemia at 14, Olivia Smart’s time at Primary Children’s opened her eyes to new possibilities. “Living through this medical journey, I got to see all the other occupations people have,” she said. “It kind of opened my horizon of things I’d want to potentially do — and I think medical is that path.”
The legacy of healing
These stories are just a few examples of the ripple effect created by Primary Children’s Hospital. Children who once needed healing are now becoming healers. Families who received support are now offering it to others. Your donation doesn’t just provide medical care — it creates future caregivers, advocates, and champions who will change countless lives.
