SALT LAKE CITY (AP) -- U.S. Rep. Jason Chaffetz says he'll seek a second term in Congress.
The Utah Republican said Wednesday he would not challenge U.S. Sen. Bob Bennett for the GOP nomination in May. Chaffetz has been coy about his ambitions for months.
Bennett is seeking a fourth term, but is already facing several challengers from within his own party.
Chaffetz says he wants to focus his energy on serving in the House. However, Chaffetz didn't rule out running for the Senate in the future.
In Chaffetz' first year in office, he's focused on objecting to congressional earmarks, opposing gay marriage and restricting the use of full body scanners in airports.
