BOUNTIFUL, Utah (AP) -- When a bath-products business got thousands of Internet orders on Wednesday, the owners didn't celebrate.
Bubble & Bee Organic of Bountiful panicked.
That's because a late-night programming error put a package of bath salts on sale for 50 cents -- not 50 percent off as intended.
Those 10-ounce salts, with scented oils and herbs, should have checked out for around $7, not 50 cents.
The mistake was widely publicized by a website where people post merchandise deals, slickdeals.net.
In the first 40 minutes Bubble & Bee got orders for 6,500 bath salts.
The co-owners scrambled to fix the price.
Stephanie Greenwood and Steve Thomas are still notifying disappointed shoppers it was all a mistake -- and offering a 20-percent discount on any product instead.
