(KSL News) A blood supply shortage has caused several transplant surgeries at local hospitals to be placed on hold.
A local and nationwide shortage of O-positive and O-negative blood is partially to blame.
ARUP Blood Services says transplant and trauma patients are sapping supplies, while cold weather is keeping blood donors at home.
The donation center hopes to get 60 people with O positive blood and 40 with O negative blood to donate over the next few days.
