GRAND CANYON -- Rescue crews have scaled back their search for an Arizona hiker who disappeared in the Grand Canyon.
Sixty-nine-year-old Robert Williams was last seen May 23 outside the park's Backcountry Information Center. He was supposed to go hiking there for Memorial Day but never returned.
His car was found Wednesday, and crews started searching the Hermit Basin area, located west of Grand Canyon village.
After nearly a week, crews have found no signs of Williams and have decided to scale back their search. They'll continue to look at cliffs Williams may have fallen off.
