SALT LAKE CITY -- The 48th annual Sterling Scholar Awards ceremony took place Wednesday night at Cottonwood High School. One hundred and ninety-five finalists in 13 different categories were recognized for their accomplishments.
Scholarship money was awarded to the 26 runner ups and winners in each of the 13 categories.
The Deseret News and KSL Television developed the program to publicly recognize and encourage the pursuit of excellence in scholarship, leadership and citizenship of high school seniors in the state of Utah.
