SMITHFIELD, Utah (AP/KSL) -- Two Sky View High School students were killed in a two-car crash in Cache County this weekend.
Michael "Taylor" Wick, 17, was driving south on U.S. Highway 91 about two miles north of Smithfield when his car drifted off the road Saturday around 6:15 p.m., according to the Utah Highway Patrol. Wick overcorrected and slid into the northbound lane, where his car was broadsided by a pickup.
Wick and Christopher Lee Dorius, 17, another Sky View student from Lewiston, were killed on impact, the Patrol said. Dorius was a passenger in Wick's car. Both were wearing seatbelts.
The pickup driver and two passengers were treated for minor injuries at Logan Regional Hospital.
Wick was a senior defensive lineman for the undefeated Sky View football team.
"He's been a part of the team for four years -- a major part of the team," Sky View coach Craig Anhder said. "It's just a shock."
