SALT LAKE CITY — One person was shot to death early Monday at a Salt Lake hotel.

The shooting was reported about 6:40 a.m. inside a room at the SpringHill Suites, 625 S. 300 West. Responding officers found a deceased person inside one of the rooms. Additional information about the victim was not immediately available.

Investigators believe the incident involved people from more than one room who all knew each other, said Salt Lake police detective Michael Ruff. Several people were being questioned by investigators Monday morning.

As of 9 a.m., no one had been arrested. Ruff said the shooting is believed to be an isolated incident and there is no outstanding threat to the public.
