OREM — The Utah Department of Public Safety and the FBI are conducting a joint investigation into the killing of conservative activist and Turning Point USA co-founder Charlie Kirk.

Kirk was shot in the neck on Wednesday afternoon while speaking to students at Utah Valley University. Multiple videos posted on social media show Kirk was sitting under a tent in the courtyard, answering questions from the crowd, when he was shot. He died later at Timpanogos Hospital.

As of Thursday evening, public safety officials were still looking for the gunman. In an evening press briefing, they shared new surveillance video of the suspected gunman running across the roof of a building, then jumping off and running away from the UVU campus.
